The Organisers

Based on the Mornington Peninsula and with a team of locals, Bay Events takes great pride in hosting and managing events in the area. They are very proud to support a vast array of local initiatives and activities that focus on the Mornington Peninsula community.

Director of Bay Events; Stewart Morgan wanted to create an experience designed for young families, with activities to entertain the kids whilst allowing the adults to relax and enjoy their Sundays. With young kids of his own, Stewart found there was a greater need for family friendly events in the local area on a day, (Sunday) which seemed to offer fewer options and activities.

Stewart’s passion for supporting the local community has found him and the Bay Events team eager to contribute, with the development of public events that back local businesses, musicians, and artists from the area. Sunday Sessions at the Briars is designed to offer a platform for young local talent to perform and gain experience, whilst sharing what they have to offer with the adults and families of the community.

What times do Sunday Sessions run?

Sunday Sessions are ‘day time’ events with each event date kicking off at 11:00am and running through until 5:00pm.

What activities are available for the kids?

Sunday Sessions are designed to offer a kid friendly environment with plenty of entertainment. Activities for the kids include:

  • Craft area (run by family focused local businesses)
  • Kids disco and live music
  • Pony rides
  • Corn hole toss
  • Giant jenga
  • Hotshot tennis
  • Other assorted games and ball sports

Can I BYO alcohol?

No sorry, Sunday Session’s are fully licensed events and with plenty of options at the Bay Events bar, you definitely won’t go thirsty!

What is the parking situation?

Once entering the Briars there will be clear directions to event parking which is available. Parking is coordinated by volunteers from the Rotary Club of Mornington so we ask that you offer a gold coin donation for this service, so that we can help invest back into the community.

Can I bring my pets to the Sunday Sessions?

We love our dogs as much as anyone but unfortunately, due to sensitive environments pets are prohibited from the Briars.

Can I bring a picnic/ food from home?

Yes, there are no restrictions on bringing your own food into the events. Keep in mind though that there are plenty of local food trucks available on the day who are eager to help take care of you!

Can I get cash out at the event?

Unfortunately there are no available ATM facilities at the event, so please do you best to bring cash along for the day. Keep in mind however that the food trucks predominantly have Eftpos facilities, as does the Bay Events Bar.

Can I reserve a table or seats?

Josephine’s Restaurant offers table bookings with the best views of the event stage so get in touch with them to secure your spot for the next event. If not, the general event area is first in best dressed so we recommend you arrive right on 11:00am ensure you get a good spot.

How can I perform at the Sunday Sessions?

We are always on the hunt for new local live acts to feature in the Sunday Session’s line-up. If you are a local performer, then we encourage you to send through an email, and short performance clip to Bay Events.

How can I get involved with the Sunday Sessions?

As Sunday Sessions at The Briars is a FREE local event, it relies on the support of the local community. Every support opportunity will be based on its individual merit, however every offer of support big or small, comes with extreme impact and appreciation from the organisers. To offer your support or to find out more, please contact Bay Events.

Sunscreen, hats, a chair or picnic rug, and most importantly a great attitude to enjoy this FREE family friendly event!
