What an incredible day it was yesterday. It was our second time around running Sunday Sessions at The Briars and the Bay Events team awoke with relief to the sight of clear skies and bright sunny sunshine. We knew it was going to be a very big day with such perfect conditions for the FREE family friendly event!
And we could not have been more right! We were completely overwhelmed with the support of the Mornington Peninsula community and the sheer number of young families, friends and supporters of the event who turned up to The Briars. With close to 1,000 people attending across the day, we were interested to hear that 20% of those had not visited The Briars before! What a buzz to have introduced so many people to this stunning local location and to have created an event that brought so many from the community together.
Owner of Bay Events, Stewart Morgan has been aiming for this kind of result since launching his Event Management and Party Hire business in 2016. With a young family of his own based in Mornington, Stewart found there was a greater need for local family friendly events on a day that seemed to offer fewer options and activities.
“I wanted to create an experience designed for young families, with activities to entertain the kids whilst allowing the adults to relax and enjoy their Sundays. An atmosphere with great music, fun and awesome local eats.”
This dream became a reality yesterday and the positive support from the local community made Stewarts efforts in funding and organising these FREE events all the more worth it!
Dundunkan African Drumming kick started the atmosphere with their high-energy student performance!
